“No crime has been committed!” LBC callers disagree over the Captain Tom scandal

Tom Swarbrick callers share opposing views about the money that was expected to reach Captain Tom's charity, which never did. While one caller Jack believes it would be fair to expect that some money wouldn't reach the charity and the family have to take a fair amount from the earnings, the other caller Barry, who used to run his own charity, is shocked by the scandal. The Charity Commission ruled that Hannah Ingram-Moore and her husband Colin committed repeated acts of misconduct in their management of the Captain Tom Foundation. Paul Latham, Director of Policy at the Charity Commission told LBC: “We think there would have been a reasonable expectation that some or all of that money would have flowed to the charity. But it didn't.” Mr Latham was clear to point out that no evidence of criminal activity was discovered in the report.
