You'll learn, among other things, how long it takes to produce one wafer and how the characteristic Prince-Polo waves are created. The first Prince-Polo wafer was produced in 1955. The company was owned by the Olza company from Cieszyn. For years, the wafer enjoyed popularity in Poland and some countries in Central and Eastern Europe. Interestingly, Prince-Polo was also well-known in Iceland, where the wafer was delivered in exchange for... herring. Years later, Iceland's then-president recalled: "An entire generation of Icelanders grew up on two things – American Coca-Cola and Polish Prince Polo." In 1993, the Cieszyn-based company was acquired by Kraft Jacobs Suchard, now Mondelez International. It is a global giant in confectionery production. Delicje, Prince-Polo, Milka, Oreo, and Halls are just a few well-known examples of brands produced by Mondelez International. The company has been present in Poland since 1992.
