It’s easy to get lost and focus on a single parameter, using this as a proxy for total value of the project, in the past there was an intense focus on NPV as the single metric for optimization and while this is a very useful measurement, it’s not the only one that determines a successful plan. Working with a number of clients we have sought to bring together capabilities to generate not just a single optimal plan but instead a wide selection of scenarios where we vary a range of parameters to discover which factors individually drive an optimal plan and also how they interact with each other. This elevates the level of understanding of a project and allows the mine planner to state with confidence what trade-offs are available to drive the objects of the operation. In this webinar we will show the concepts of multi-parameter analysis, how to vary and control the inputs needed and how cutting-edge algorithms are allowing us to achieve more than ever before without sacrificing our traditional approach to life of mine optimization. Our case study will focus on how a mining company as able to extract superior NPV from their existing operating pit by analyzing factors such as mining direction, phases generation, commodity price volatility, equipment utilization and more while generating plans that were robust to the market forces that surround us. We will also show the next steps of how we translate these plans in to operational mine designs.
