Hull repair on Grumman Aluminum Canoe - Eagle 15 square back restoration

"Free canoe". That’s what it said on craigslist, so I drove an hour and picked it up. There’s usually a catch when something awesome is given away fro free, and it’s usually because it’s no longer any good to the person giving it away. This was the case for the previous owner, and I was the lucky recipient. I like a challenge, I have some skills, and I have vision. This is a Grumman Eagle 15 ft. square back canoe made to carry up to four people and handle a 5 hp motor. Used you can find them from $500-$1200 and new they are closer to $2000, so finding this one for free was awesome. The previous owner said "just slap a little fiberglass patch on there and it will be fine." I didn't agree. I chose a different route. I use some body working tools like hammer and dolly set, electric grinder, a torch, and some other tools and products in this project, some of which you can find in the affiliate links below. I was even considering some paintless dent repair tools and techniques, but PDR wasn't really needed since there was easy access to both sides of the metal.
