After nearly 30 years of working with dogs, there are some breeds I can admire, respect, and even enjoy training… but you still couldn’t pay me to live with them. That does not make these bad dogs. In fact, several of these breeds are incredibly intelligent, driven, athletic, loyal, and capable. But living with a dog every single day is very different from appreciating what that dog was bred to do. In this video, I’m breaking down the top five dog breeds you couldn’t pay me to live with, including the Miniature Pinscher, working-line Labrador Retriever, Double Doodle, German Shorthaired Pointer, and the relentless Jagdterrier. Some are too intense. Some never seem to shut off. Some bring more energy, instinct, grooming, chaos, or management than I personally want in my home. And one of these dogs is basically an industrial-strength motor packed inside a small terrier body. Remember, this is not a list of bad breeds.
