Bring on the Night

First in a series of Tutorials (hoping I nailed this one). This one deals with the Chapter E Night Rules, specifically as they apply to the scenario Dave and I intend to play shortly, ASL 101 Throwing Down the Gauntlet. So no Vehicle/Cavalry/Trip Flares/Recon/IR, etc. Primarily infantry based. 0:00 Intro 2:22 DEFENDER First Impressions 6:02 ATTACKER First Impressions 9:40 Night Visibility Radius (NVR) 12:22 Illuminated Locations 14:49 Gunflashes 16:11 Unit Ratings at night 17:15 Scenario Defender 21:31 Scenario Attacker 23:52 Concealment & Cloaking 31:00 Movement 35:33 Starshells/IR 39:48 Combat 44:16 Routing 46:57 Final Considerations 52:01 Out-Tro Here are some useful links to the ASL Texas website with some handy Night Rules clarifications/cheat sheets. Any mistakes are mine, and please point them out as you see them. If the errors are egregious enough I'll take down this vide and reshoot it. I really want to get this one right. *EDIT - 28 Feb 2024* A reminder that in the ASL Rulebook, they define ATTACKER/DEFENDER as the roles the players play during each Player Turn. For example, in the German turn, they would be the ATTACKER, and their opponent the DEFENDER. If those two terms are written in lowercase, i.e., Attacker/Defender, it refers to the Scenario roles. Apologies if I misled you, especially during the ATTACKER ambush potential; it should be a dr 2-less than the DEFENDER to get it.
