Lure Fishing : Regret not checking the weather and tide in more detail : Catterline Aberdeenshire

Well at least I got out and gave it a try. I do enjoy being out even if I'm not catching fish - but really, I do think I could do with working on my catch rate...or luck with the weather. I had bought some new lighter braid and some new lures and was keen to give them a try. On this occasion I even deployed a small drogue in an attempt to slow the speed at which the kayak was drifting. I was just getting into the fish when my old friend the wind had other ideas. I decided to head for shore as this North East coast is quite exposed and not a place to be out on your own in rough weather. Our 'Summer' is fast turning into Autumn up here with the days rapidly getting shorter. The kayak will soon be put away and more shore based fishing will dominate. Winter Cod campaign here we come.
