This footage took place mid-week Sept. 99. It was the time for aircraft to prepare and make qualifying attempts on the shortened course. The aircraft would then compete in Heat Races to determine their starting position for Sunday. Wednesday's best speed, Race #7 - P-51, Tiger in STREGA at 479.620 mph.
