A nest of heroes, a city bearing the indelible marks of war. In the third chapter of the tribute to the 40th anniversary of the Falklands War, Reynaldo Sietecase traveled to the Province of Santa Cruz, to the port of San Julián. The work of the Air Force in this geographical location has been transcendent, memorable for its bravery and professionalism. But this place not only treasures the arduous work of the pilots, mechanics, and officers, but also remembers and honors the citizens. A town that has offered selfless support to soldiers and conscripts, accompanying and sheltering them with profound admiration. The serene and transparent waters of San Julián are faithful witnesses to the tragedies this city has endured. They whisper and recall the military base, a key location in 1982. From runways now deserted and abandoned, Air Force planes took off fully aware of the risks they would face. From the hangars, still standing but no longer in use, took flight the pilots who attacked the British fleet during the war.
