Forever Young - Tribute to Easy Company 506th K.I.A.
THE E / 506TH PARACHUTE INFANTRY REGIMENT EULOGY (author unknown) At this moment, we are gathered here together to pay our respects to the men of E - Company who were killed in action during World War II. The epitaph sent by the U.S. Army in all cases was a brief statement. Few notices elaborated to any extent at all. "We regret to inform you" type thing. However, we know of some officers who spent long hours into the sunset, writing the obituaries to parents and wives explaining in great detail. And many enlisted men who wrote extensive letters as well. The inscription on the tombstone reads simply the name, rank, date of death, hometown & 506th PIR 101st AB Div. That is for those who were found and buried. The number of men killed in E - Company in World War II comes to a total of 49 plus 2 that died together the battalion. So we say farewell to those loved ones, but they shall never be forgotten or left out of our prayers. "These guys are, and always will be, forever young" Wild Bill Guarnere THE EAGLE WILL ALWAYS SCREAM FOR OUR FALLEN BROTHERS MAY THE WORLD NEVER FORGET! Soundtrack: Forever Young - Alphaville
