PZL SW-4 Puszczyk demo at Radom Airshow 2015

Radom Airshow is one of the biggest military and civil airshow around Poland. It held yearly at the airport of Radom. Radom Airport also known as Radom-Sadków Airport is a civil and military airport in central Poland, located approximately 3 km east of Radom city center. The name "Sadków" comes from the suburb of Radom in which the airport is located. The airport has been in operation since the 1920s. During the day visitors could enjoy a very exciting and varied program, with fighter jets, cargo planes, helicopters and formations. For us one of the most anticipated program was the Polish Air Force SW-4 Puszczyk demonstration flight. The PZL SW-4 Puszczyk is a Polish light single-engine multipurpose helicopter manufactured by PZL-Świdnik. PZL-Swidnik began development of a new four/five seat light utility helicopter around 1981. This original SW4 had the 300 kW PZL Rzeszow GTD350 turbo shaft. The first completed prototype first flew in 26 October 1996. Nowadays the type is flying with Rolls-Royce Model 250-C20R/2 turboshaft engine. A Radom Airshow az egyik legnagyobb katonai és civil repülőnap Lengyelországban. A repülőnap évente kerül megrendezésre a Radomi repülőtéren. A Radomi repülőtér, másik nevén Radom-Skadów repülőtér egy civil-katonai repülőtér Lengyelország szívében, Radom városközponttól 3 kilóméterre. Radom külvárosának neve Skadów, erről kapta a repülőtér a nevét. A repülőtér az 1920-as évek óta üzemel. A látogatókat rendkívül izgalmas és változatos program fogadta. Az időjárás sajnos nem kedvezett, csak nap végére sütött ki a nap. A nap folyamán általunk egyik legjobban várt program az ízig-vérig lengyel SW-4 Puszczyk bemutatórepülése volt. Az SW-4 Puszczyk egy egyhajtóműves többcélú kishelikopter a lengyel PZL-Świdnik gyártól. PZL-Świdnik még 1981-ben belekezdett egy 4/5 üléses helikopter kifejlesztésébe. Az SW-4-re keresztelt helikoptert először the 300 kW PZL Rzeszow GTD350 hajtóművel szerelték fel. Első repülésére 1996 októberében került sor. Későbbiekben hajtóművét kicserélték az erősebb Rolls-Royce Model 250-C20R/2 hajtóműre, máig ezzel repül.
