Exploring London As A Nigerian 🇳🇬 (This Was Different)
In London, I explored both the polished heart of the city and the deeper cultural corners that tell a different story. From Central London’s fast pace to the vibrant African community in Peckham, I went beyond sightseeing and stepped into real conversations. I spoke with Nigerians living in London about their experiences—adapting as foreigners, navigating the high cost of living, and balancing opportunity with reality. Many shared how expensive rent and daily expenses can be, and how even simple things like traveling home (“going back once a year”) become a major decision. Yet, despite the challenges, there’s a strong sense of resilience, culture, and identity that keeps the community grounded. This journey became more than just a visit—it was an exploration of London through the lens of its people, capturing both the beauty and the struggle of building a life far from home.
