A SMOOTH COMPLEXITY

I was inspired to create A Smooth Complexity reminiscing how some time back in the day I would drive over and hang out with my Dad (Wilbur “Willie” Fordham) at his TV repair shop in uptown Harrisburg (PA), and occasionally a dope fiend or others would roll through trying to sell some merchandise they had “acquired.” I distinctly remember one time when a guy came through the spot, and even though he was jonesing for a fix pretty bad he had remarkable composure and his flow was on point trying to pitch his sale. After he left, I told my Dad that “He was smooth,” and my Dad replied, “But that is one complex individual,” and we both started laughing. That is one of the many special times I had with my Dad that I will forever cherish, and hopefully the feel and groove of this track can convey the vibe I remember feeling with him at the shop on that day. I pray that we all can keep and hold onto cherished memories because they, with the grace and mercy of God, can carry us through the day and dark nights. I thank the Lord for all my blessings.
