Al Jazeera's Ramallah bureau chief, Walid al-Omari, reported, citing an Israeli military statement, that four missiles were launched from Iran targeting the Jordanian city of Aqaba on the Red Sea. According to the statement, the US military intercepted three of these missiles, while the fourth landed in an unpopulated area. This prompted Israeli authorities to activate the Iron Dome missile defense system to deal with falling debris, some of which eyewitnesses reported landing north of the city of Eilat. Following the attack, several flights were suspended or delayed, and US refueling aircraft were evacuated from Ramon Airport.
