Exploring Valley of Fire State Park | Fire Wave, White Domes & Ancient Petroglyphs

Welcome back to the channel! In this adventure, I spend a full day exploring some of the most incredible scenery in Valley of Fire State Park, Nevada. From ancient petroglyphs and unique sandstone formations to narrow canyons, colorful domes, and one of the park’s most famous rock formations, this was an unforgettable day on the trail. The journey begins with several of Valley of Fire’s iconic roadside stops, including Atlatl Rock, the Beehives, Arch Rock, Windstone Arch, Piano Rock, and other incredible viewpoints throughout the park. After exploring by car, it’s time to hit the trails. I hike the Petroglyph Canyon Trail to Mouse’s Tank, following a sandy wash lined with ancient rock art before continuing deeper into the desert. From there, I explore Petrified Logs Loop, where millions of years of geologic history are preserved in fossilized wood scattered across the landscape. Next, I climb to the top of Silica Dome for sweeping views across the colorful desert before finishing the day on one of Valley of Fire’s most scenic hikes. Starting from the White Domes Trail, I descend through the beautiful Pink Canyon, continue across the desert to the incredible Fire Wave, and make the return hike as the afternoon light brings the sandstone to life.
