24 Hours wild camping in Donegal:hiking the devils backbone

Hey everyone! Come along for a 24-hour adventure around Donegal with me. We start off at Fanad Lighthouse ,there’s this cool abandoned building there. Then I hit up Ballymastocker Bay (also called Portsalon Beach) which honestly felt like a little slice of the tropics right here in Ireland. I cruise down the Knockalla Coast Road, then take on the Devil’s Backbone hike in full 28°C heat ,with a massive heavy backpack, I’m headed to the Black Lakes to camp ⛺️ but after the climb and dealing with a migraine and dizziness, I decide to camp somewhere a bit easier. Next morning, I’m up at 4:30 AM to catch the sunrise, spot horses with the mountains behind, and grab some drone shots over the beach. I finish off by chilling at the campsite, which actually has a lovely shower and a wee camp kitchen way better than I expected! But here’s to getting my wild camp in next definitely a wild camping girl at heart! This trip was inspired by Gerry ‪@gerrymcveigh‬ who I’ve watched hike and camp in knockalla and explore the surroundings areas so if you don’t already give him a follow he’s a man that knows his stuff ⛰️ ⛺️ #ireland #femalecamper #wildcamping #donegal #knockalla #devilsbackbone #fanad #portsalon #wildatlanticway
