At 33 years old, and a mother of a five-year-old girl, Thabita Kelly spent years living a routine that few people could sustain. The daughter of a cook, raised with her mother as her greatest role model, she learned early on that the only way to change her own story was through education. Then came the shifts, the late-night study sessions, and the open books whenever her daughter was at school or sleeping. Years of trying, approvals on the reserve list, and the feeling of always being very close, but never in the place she dreamed of. Until 2025 changed everything. At the PCDF (Federal District Civil Police), she achieved first place in the objective test for the position of nurse. After the written exam, she secured second place, within the available positions. In the same year, she was also among the top candidates at EBSERH (Brazilian Hospital Services Company), achieved 28th place at the MPU (Federal Public Prosecutor's Office), and at CNU 2 (National University Entrance Exam 2), she achieved first place in the objective test for nurse at the Armed Forces Hospital, finishing seventh overall. But Thabita's greatest achievement went far beyond passing the exams. After years in the private sector, working hard and with a poor quality of life, she found in public service the stability she always sought and the possibility of living with more dignity, without giving up what she loves: caring for people.
