The baby is growing well and running around energetically, wiggling its characteristic round ears. The zoo will open to the public on the 17th, and is accepting suggestions for a nickname. Asa Zoo is the only place in Japan where forest elephants are kept. According to the zoo, the calf weighed 113 kg and stood 88 cm tall.
