Every season, the East Frisian Islands in the North Sea compete for new visitors. Juist is no exception. The island is only 900 meters wide and 17 kilometers long, located between Borkum to the west and Norderney to the east. A natural paradise and tourist hotspot, it attracts around 130,000 visitors a year. Those who want to attract vacationers need to offer appealing and innovative options. "die nordstory" follows four dedicated individuals on Juist who want to win over their guests with new ideas. He had planned a colorful, wood-look station, like those found in the Caribbean. However, something quite different is being delivered to the island. Sandra and Frank Axmann worked on a vineyard in Portugal in the spring. Now they're transporting several bottles of wine from the south in a handcart over the dike to the ferry to the island. They plan to serve the wine in their new delicatessen bistro just in time for the start of the season and fill a gap in the island's market. From the Weserbergland region, 43-year-old pastor Stefanie Lohmann has moved to the flat North Sea island with new ideas. The Lower Saxon native plays drums, records podcasts, and performs baptisms with North Sea water on the beach.
