Why Modi's New India Won't Compromise on Bangladesh Border Security | Hardik Mehta

Bangladesh has once again protested against India after Zahed Ur Rahman, an adviser to Bangladesh Prime Minister Tarique Rahman, was stopped for verification at Delhi airport. But is this only an airport incident, or is it connected to a much bigger story involving India-Bangladesh relations, border security, illegal migration, Hindu minorities, Sheikh Hasina, China’s influence, and South Asia’s changing power balance? In this episode of India Positive, Hardik Mehta explains why Bangladesh’s reaction should not be seen in isolation. India shares a long and sensitive border with Bangladesh, and the pressure of illegal migration, smuggling, human trafficking, identity verification, and border management directly affects Indian states like West Bengal, Assam, Meghalaya, Tripura, and Mizoram. For India, this is not just diplomacy. This is national security. India has asked Bangladesh to verify the nationality of thousands of undocumented people. India and Bangladesh have also discussed joint border patrols, intelligence sharing, smuggling, illegal crossings, and border infrastructure. The question is simple: if Bangladesh wants a stable relationship with India, why should basic verification and border discipline become a diplomatic controversy? This video also looks at the political situation inside Bangladesh. After Sheikh Hasina’s exit, reports of attacks on Hindu homes, businesses, temples, and minority communities created serious concern in India. If Bangladesh can react strongly to an airport verification issue, why does the same urgency not appear when Hindu minorities face fear, violence, and insecurity? This video is not against ordinary Bangladeshi people. It is a sharp criticism of Bangladesh’s political establishment, radical groups, minority-protection failures, anti-India politics, and weak border cooperation. India wants friendship with Bangladesh, but friendship must come with discipline, trust, and respect for India’s national interest. Bangladesh also faces serious economic challenges, including heavy dependence on garment exports, inflation pressure, weak tax collection, political uncertainty, and the need for foreign investment. In South Asia, blaming India often becomes an easy political shortcut when domestic problems become difficult. But investors do not care about drama. Investors look for stability, law, infrastructure, trust, and leadership. Under Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India’s foreign policy has become more confident, practical, and India-first. India talks to America, buys oil from Russia, deals with China firmly, isolates Pakistan on terrorism, and expects Bangladesh to respect India’s security concerns. New India does not want conflict, but New India will not compromise on borders, illegal migration, national security, or the safety of Hindus and other minorities in the region. This video explains: Bangladesh’s protest against India Zahed Ur Rahman Delhi airport incident Tarique Rahman government and India India-Bangladesh border tension Illegal migration and undocumented people Hindu minorities in Bangladesh Attacks on Hindu homes and temples Sheikh Hasina factor China’s influence in Bangladesh Pakistan and Bangladesh comparison Modi government foreign policy India-first geopolitics South Asia power politics India’s national security concerns India Positive brings sharp, data-backed, India-first analysis on geopolitics, economy, trade, national security, foreign policy, Narendra Modi’s India, China, Pakistan, Bangladesh, America, Russia, the Global South, and the changing world order.
