Though it might not feel calming at first, shoulder stand is a great inversion that allows your body and nervous system to settle as you near the end of your practice. Learning how to do it properly will help you access those restorative benefits! In this tutorial, we show you how to do SALAMBA SARVANGASANA \ SUPPORTED SHOULDER STAND from Ashtanga's Closing Sequence Series. You’ll learn the traditional vinyasa cues as you see how to get into this pose with a lot of guidance and step by step direction. You’ll understand why we want to bring elbows in towards each other and how to do so, where to place your hands, and how to align your hips above the shoulders. You’ll also learn where and how to distribute the weight so you’re not collapsing into the neck, with modifications to create more space there.
