From there, it travels through the rugged mountains of the Picos de Europa and the forests of Galicia before arriving in Santiago de Compostela. The route is approximately 325 kilometers long and typically takes about two weeks to complete. Along the way, pilgrims can experience the beautiful landscapes and rich cultural heritage of northern Spain. They will pass through charming towns and villages, with plenty of opportunities to sample the local cuisine and meet other pilgrims. The Camino Primitivo is a physically demanding route and requires a good level of fitness. However, the sense of accomplishment and spiritual fulfillment that comes from completing the journey makes it a rewarding experience for those who are up to the challenge.
