Waschbären sorgen für Ärger in Solingen

Raccoons are causing problems for residents in Solingen. According to neighbors, the animals have taken up residence in an empty house and are apparently damaging the roof. Roof tiles are reportedly falling off repeatedly. Resident Ingo Schwickerath is particularly affected. He reports that raccoons have also been damaging his garden shed for years. Wildlife cameras documented the animals on his property several years ago. The city of Solingen confirms that raccoons are becoming an increasing problem in the region. Animals are also present in the empty house. However, the owner is responsible for securing the building. According to the city, there is currently no danger of collapse. Many residents remain hopeful that the problem will soon be resolved, as their concern about further damage grows with each day the animals remain undisturbed. ─────────────────── SAT.1 NRW – Live at 5:30 PM The regional program for North Rhine-Westphalia with Bastian Wiedenhaupt and Marc Hillen.
