This issue is important because Vice President CP Radhakrishnan recently launched the National Program for Issuing Letters of Authorization for Sustainable Deep Sea Fisheries in Bhubaneswar, the capital of Odisha. On this occasion, Vice President CP Radhakrishnan also launched the Odisha Deep Sea Fishing Mission document. Vice President CP Radhakrishnan stated that this initiative marks the beginning of a new chapter in India's maritime journey. India is the second largest fish producer in the world. By harnessing the vast resources of the ocean, India can strengthen the foundation of a developed India through the Blue Economy. Therefore, the Government of India is working at various levels to promote fish production, develop, and utilize the vast resources of the ocean. Vice President CP Radhakrishnan urged that fisheries should not be viewed solely as a traditional occupation, but as a modern business linked to science, technology, innovation, and global opportunities.
