Four-year-old Nirvair, who fell into a 220-foot-deep borewell in Ambala, could not be saved. After a 21-hour rescue operation, his body was pulled out of the borewell around 3:30 a.m. on Wednesday. A post-mortem examination was conducted at the Ambala City Civil Hospital in the morning. The investigation revealed that he died from injuries sustained during the fall and drowning. The body was brought to his home in Dhanyoda village in the afternoon, where it was kept for a 15-minute funeral service. He was then cremated at the village crematorium. Nirvair was cremated by his father, Manjeet Singh. On the other hand, based on a complaint from the family, the Sadar police station has registered a case under Section 106 (causing death by negligence) of the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC) against the farm owner and two individuals who leased the farm.
