Is a change coming to the deposit system? Will bottle collection be taxed? Minister of Climate and Environment Paulina Hennig-Kloska is a guest on the "Gość Radio ZET" program. Will the government introduce a tax on returned bottles that were found, not purchased? The minister categorically put an end to the growing speculation, declaring bluntly: "There is no such tax, and we have no plans to introduce one." The minister emphasized that citizens need not fear receipt inspections, adding: "We have the right to return bottles that we find, too." Although she admitted that the logistics of the deposit system require further refinement, as many as 80% of returns currently go to vending machines in supermarkets. She also announced that the system will only be expanded to include glass bottles known as "monkeys" when current processes are fully operational. "Our natural candidate for mayor of Krakow is Rafał Komarewicz," reveals the president of the Centrum association. The Radio ZET guest emphasized that a decision on his run has not yet been made, but announced: "Today we have an evening meeting with the club to discuss the situation in Krakow. We will be listening to Rafał's recommendations." The politician explains that MP Komarewicz is "a long-time local government official from this city, a member of the Krakow region's Sejm, who knows Krakow best, knows the mood of its residents, and works to advance their interests in the Sejm." Hennig-Kloska also addressed the dispute over the Clean Air program, where the Ministry of Funds and Regional Policy withheld the payment of over 1.5 billion złoty in subsidies for Polish families. The Minister of Climate and Environment commented on Minister Katarzyna Pełczyńska-Nałęcz's actions, saying: "Furiousness is not part of my professional attitude as a minister. I'm a bit angry and disappointed." She also assured that the ministry rigorously reviews applications for funding for thermal modernization and the replacement of smokestacks, and that the deadline for the European Commission to release European funds is the end of July. Referring to high-profile incidents involving wild animals, including wolf attacks and the threat posed by brown bears in the Podkarpacie region, the minister reiterated the existence of intervention procedures, emphasizing, however, "We have no plans to reduce the population." Instead, the government is relying on professional intervention teams equipped with smoothbore weapons fired with rubber bullets. Hennig-Kloska also addressed the drought and the fact that since the beginning of the year, 1,500 more forest fires have broken out than during the same period last year. Finally, the Minister of Climate and Environment addressed Jarosław Kaczyński's statements regarding the Green Deal and the EU's ETS2 system. Defending the development of renewable energy sources (RES) and the construction of large-scale energy storage facilities to stabilize the photovoltaic grid, she concluded: "True patriots support the development of renewable energy sources." The president of the Centrum association also revealed the club's political plans, announcing the registration of a new political party before the upcoming elections.
