La UE y México sellan su alianza frente a Trump con una actualización de su Tratado Comercial

The European Union and Mexico strengthened their strategic alliance by modernizing the Global Agreement signed in 1997, which quadrupled bilateral trade. The new agreement aims to address a global context marked by geopolitical tensions, tariffs, and economic fragmentation. The modernization will boost trade, investment, and cooperation in key sectors such as clean energy, infrastructure, strategic minerals, sustainable development, and technology. It will also eliminate 99% of agri-food tariffs, benefiting both European producers and Mexican consumers. Europe will also invest an additional €5 billion in Mexico for energy, transportation, and industrial production projects. Furthermore, the agreement will strengthen supply chains and protect traditional European products from imitations. Both parties emphasize that this alliance represents a commitment to economic openness, international cooperation, and stability in an increasingly divided world.
