Let's start with the TT2112 form, which you can request from the DMV office or simply download from www.ilportaledellautomobilista.it and print. It must be completed by indicating the DMV office you will be using and entering the details of the person who intends to obtain the license on all the forms where this information is requested. You will then need to tick the box next to "to be admitted to the driving test to obtain a category license," in this case, type B, and then sign in the space provided at the bottom. If you have been required to wear glasses or contact lenses while driving, write the letter "L" next to "technical requirements" and "driving with lenses" on the line above the rectangle with your signature. If you already have a license, indicate the category and its details in the appropriate spaces. On the third page, the one for payment slips, we won't add anything, since traditional payment slips are no longer used; instead, payments will be made via PagoPA, which we'll discuss shortly. We'll simply mark an "X" in the box marked "Type N with exam." On the seventh page, attach a passport photo, write your first and last name in the appropriate spaces, and sign within the rectangle. On the eighth page, you won't need to indicate the vehicle you'll be taking the exam in; this will be clarified later. On the TT2112 form, remember to attach a second passport photo, which you can also staple with a paper clip and will be needed later. Now let's move on to the PagoPA payments needed to register for the theory exam. There will be three of them, and they could be made at different times, but I recommend doing them all at once to avoid wasting time and possibly running back and forth for nothing. These forms are also available on the motorist portal website. You'll first need to access this site using SPID or CIE. Once logged in, click on "Access to Services," scroll down to "PagoPA Online Payment," and finally select the "New Payment" box. Now you'll need to enter the PagoPA payment slip codes. Click next to "Select," type N067, then click "Driving License Theory Exam." The fee to be paid will be €42.40, and it will be entered automatically; you won't have to. Then select "Add to Cart" and then "Add" again. You'll then view your cart, where you'll find the first of the three PagoPA payment slips. Then click "Add a New Slip" and repeat the same process as before, but this time enter the code N019, scrolling down to "Driving License Theory Exam." The payment slip, which will be automatically re-entered, will in this case be €16. Then select "Add to Cart" and then "Add" again. This will bring your cart back to view, where you'll find both PagoPA payment slips entered, for a total of €58.40 so far. To obtain your driving license, you'll need to: complete form TT2112; obtain three passport photos; pay three PagoPA payment slips. Obtain the first medical certificate, the anamnesis, issued by your GP, and then the second certificate of fitness to drive issued by a qualified doctor. Prepare photocopies of your identity card, tax code, any driving license you hold, and, for non-EU citizens, your residence permit or residence card. Fill everything out on form TT2112, schedule an appointment at one of the designated counters at your nearest Motor Vehicle Office, and you're done.
