How to make Team Race Wheels
Wheels for control line Team Race models can be hard to come by, especially in the size required for Class B models. Here's how I make them from 30mm cast urethane round bar sourced from Aliexpress. It slices beautifully, shapes easily by sanding and yet lasts for years and years in use. Most classes require a minimum 25mm diameter wheel, so it's wise to make them 27-28mm to allow for wear. Class B wheels need to be 30mm diameter, so they're stretched over a larger hub to boost the tyre diameter to nearly 31mm. Once complete they can run on a brass axle or have a brass bush pressed in to run on a 1/8" music wire undercarriage leg.
