FITS format
Introduction to the FITS format commonly used by astronomers starting with discussion of the file structure followed by practical demonstration of loading header and image data into a python and using DS9 (and pyds9 in python) to view the data. Part of the Astronomical Techniques series developed for advanced undergraduate and beginning graduate students at San Diego State University. The accompanying Jupyter notebook can be found at https://github.com/rmquimby/Astronomi.... Students should complete these notebooks as they watch the video.
