Why a used, appropriately aged battery module can be more sensible than a brand-new one. What's behind the 10-to-80 percent rule? When can an electric car be charged to 100 percent? Why shouldn't an almost empty battery be left parked for several weeks? What does the battery management system do when balancing individual cells? Which tasks can a regular garage perform on an electric car, and when is true high-voltage qualification required? How are battery fires classified, and why working on individual lithium-ion cells is not for hobbyists... We also report on our 1,000-kilometer endurance test in temperatures around 40 degrees Celsius. How much does a running air conditioner really affect fuel consumption? And why did seat ventilation suddenly go from a luxury feature to the secret test winner? This week's "Bullshit of the Week" isn't about electric cars, but about dubious octane tablets from the internet. These are supposedly simply thrown into the fuel tank and turn regular gasoline into a kind of racing fuel.
