India's toy industry has undergone a remarkable transformation over the past decade. From being heavily dependent on imported toys, India is now emerging as a global toy manufacturing and export hub. In this episode of Vishleshan, we analyse the key factors behind this transformation, the government's policy initiatives, and the growing role of MSMEs, startups and traditional artisans in strengthening India's toy ecosystem. The programme also examines the impact of the National Action Plan for Toys, Quality Control Orders (QCO), BIS standards, Toy Biz International B2B Expo 2026, and initiatives such as One District One Product (ODOP), GI-tagged toys and Toycathon.
