Ill-Fated Kalitta DC-8-61(F) Arriving & Departing LAX
Recorded December 1991 Kalitta McDonnell Douglas DC-8-61(F) N25UA (cn 46127/510) Sadly, this classic aircraft crashed in August 1993, (as N814CK) on approach with three crewmembers onboard. The accident was blamed on fatigue. The resulting fire encompassed 35 acres near the airfield. All three crewmembers were rescued by the Leeward Crash Crew (Guantanamo NAS).
