Restauration du bassin d'Apollon // Restoration of the Apollo's fountain

🇫🇷 Découvrez les coulisses de la restauration du bassin d'Apollon. Lancé en décembre 2022, le chantier a commencé par le démontage et le grutage des sculptures, elles ont ensuite été acheminées dans un atelier pour bénéficier d'une intervention d'envergure. Le plomb a été restauré ainsi que les armatures métalliques servant d'ossature au dieu du soleil et à ses chevaux. Pour finir, l'ensemble a été recouvert de feuilles d'or et à retrouver sa place en mars 2024. Les effets d'eau historiques ont également été restitués par les fontainiers du château de Versailles. 🌍Discover behind the scenes of the restoration of the Apollo basin. The lead was restored as well as the metal frames serving as a framework for the sun god and his horses. Finally, the whole thing was covered with gold leaf and will return to its place in March 2024.
