News of July 11th - 76 years have passed since Volhynian Bloody Sunday
On July 11th, the Ukrainian Insurgent Army attacked 99 Polish villages and towns in the Volhynia region, murdering up to twelve thousand Poles. In most cases, they used axes, hammers and even pitchforks. Historians estimate that between 1942 and 1945 close to 100,000 Poles were killed by Ukrainians in Volhynia, Eastern Galicia, Lubelszczyzna and Polesie. 95% of them were never given a proper burial.
