Tour Chongqing City from South to North - Experience the morning peak of China's big cities - 4K
Tour Chongqing City from South to North - Experience the morning peak of China's big cities Chongqing, referred to as "Ba" and "Yu" for short, also known as Mountain City, River City, Fog Capital, and Bridge Capital, is a municipality directly under the Central Government of the People's Republic of China, a national central city, a megacity, an important national advanced manufacturing center, a financial center in the west, an international comprehensive transportation hub in the west, and an international gateway hub. The city covers an area of 82,400 square kilometers and has jurisdiction over 38 districts and counties (26 districts, 8 counties, and 4 autonomous counties). As of the end of 2024, the city's permanent population is 32.12 million, with an urbanization rate of 71.4%, making it one of the most populous cities in the world. Chongqing is located in the southwestern part of China and the upper reaches of the Yangtze River. It is the only municipality directly under the Central Government in the central and western regions of China, an important strategic fulcrum for the development of the western region, an important link between the "Belt and Road" and the Yangtze River Economic Belt, and an open inland highland. Chongqing is a famous national historical and cultural city with a recorded history of more than 3,000 years and the birthplace of Bashu culture. Because the Jialing River was called "Yu River" in ancient times, Chongqing is also referred to as "Yu" for short. In the first year of Chongning in the Northern Song Dynasty (1102), Yuzhou was renamed Gongzhou. In the first month of the 16th year of Chunxi in the Southern Song Dynasty (1189), Zhao Dun, the son of Emperor Xiaozong, was granted the title of King Gong. In February of the same year, he ascended the throne as Emperor Guangzong, so Gongzhou was promoted to Chongqing Prefecture, and the name "Chongqing" has been used ever since. In 1891, Chongqing became the first inland treaty port in China to open to the outside world. In 1929, Chongqing was officially established as a city. During the Anti-Japanese War, the National Government designated Chongqing as its wartime capital and permanent auxiliary capital. Together with Washington, London, and Moscow, Chongqing was listed as one of the four major anti-fascist command centers in the world, making great contributions to the world anti-fascist war. In the early days of the founding of the People's Republic of China, Chongqing was a municipality directly under the Central Government, the seat of the Southwest Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the Southwest Military and Political Commission, and the political, economic and cultural center of Southwest China. In 1983, the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the State Council approved Chongqing as the country's first pilot city for comprehensive economic system reform, implementing a separate plan. On March 14, 1997, to meet the needs of the Three Gorges Project, the Fifth Session of the Eighth National People's Congress approved the resumption of the establishment of Chongqing Municipality, which was officially listed on June 18. Chongqing is located between 28°10'-32°13' north latitude and 105°11'-110°11' east longitude, spanning the transition zone between the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau and the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River. It is located in the southwest of inland China and the upper reaches of the Yangtze River, bordering Hubei in the east, Hunan in the southeast, Guizhou in the south, Sichuan in the west, and Shaanxi in the north. As the largest municipality directly under the Central Government in China, Chongqing is a group city integrating large cities, large rural areas, large mountainous areas, and large reservoir areas. The built-up area of the main urban area is 877.78 square kilometers. The automobile and motorcycle industry, electronic information industry, equipment manufacturing industry, pharmaceutical and chemical industry, material industry, energy industry, and consumer goods industry are the pillar industries of Chongqing. Chongqing is the world's largest production base for notebook PCs. The Western New Land-Sea Corridor, with Chongqing as its operation center, has covered 338 ports in 113 countries and regions. Liangjiang New Area, located north of the Jialing River and the Yangtze River in the main urban area of Chongqing, is a national-level new area (the third national-level new area after Shanghai Pudong and Tianjin Binhai), and an important base for advanced manufacturing and modern service industries. #China #Chongqing #HDR
