How to repair a US military or other lensatic compass in 5 minutes
This short video demonstrates how to bring your US military compass back to working order. the US military lensatic compass is one of the most reliable pieces of equipment a soldier can have. The only weaknesses the compass has is the needle that supports the floating dial and internal moisture. The needle is by far the more troubling of the two problems. Over time, the brass needle develops a small burr that prevents the dial from rotating freely and will often result in incorrect headings. Fixing the problem is relatively easy- even in field conditions.
