Close-Range Fighting and Fluid Grip Changes | Art of Nunchaku Lesson 5/20

Alex Stick teaches Nunchaku Lesson 5: instinctive close-range training—moving with the sticks, switching grips, and three essential snatches. In this lesson, Alex continues the instinctive training from earlier in the series. Instead of moving between fighting positions, you'll keep the sticks close to your body core and learn to change grips and techniques fluidly while you move. This is the heart of close-range fighting: compact, controlled movement with no room for wide swings. It also lays the groundwork for the swinging techniques coming next in the series. Without these close-range skills, your nunchaku become nearly useless the moment an opponent closes the distance. This is the fifth video in a 20-lesson nunchaku kata series. Each lesson adds new combinations and ideas that can eventually be linked together into your own forms. Subscribe for the full Art of Nunchaku lesson series.
