By City the Rock & 100% Barstow goggle combo 1 week on motorway rain lens change

A week on and I'm really happy with the By City The Rock helmet and 100% Barstow goggle combo. Gave them some serious motorway miles this week and you start to feel a bit buffeted over 60, don't really want to spend too much time over 70 at all with them, but that suits my old wheels anyway. Proper test though; last night i was out on the motorway in seriously heavy rain and i made a few observations about the combo: 1) You get some stinging at speed from the rain around the edge of the goggles and face, but its an open face helmet so you prepare for that. To be fair it was more like hail stones than rain. 2) absolutely no fogging up or leakage at all, from the goggles or my glasses, so miles better than my cheap full face helmet. 3) my big mistake - I forgot to switch the smoked lens in the goggles for the clear and ended up having to ride with the goggles off my face once it got dark. Absolute nightmare in the rain at speed on the motorway oops. 4) I cant safely or easily lift the goggles up or put them back on my face with one hand whilst riding, especially over my glasses too like I might have with a conventional visor, but if i'd have had the clear lens in the goggles i wouldn't need to do that whilst moving along anyway as they dont steam up like the visor on a full face did. Conclusion: absolutely chuffed with the open face/goggles/large frame glasses combo! And that's in cold wet winter too; they are going to be a dream come summer ;)
