JAGADUDHARANA is a popular yet emotive composition by 15th Century Saint Poet Purandaradasa. Lucid Kannada lyrics in this composition describes mother Yashoda playfully taking care of her cute little son Krishna. Lord Krishna in the form of Aprameya Svami was the inspiration for Purandaradasa to write this imaginative composition. The icon of Aprameya Swami(ಅಪ್ರಮೇಯ ಸ್ವಾಮಿ), a crawling toddler worshipped is at the Vishnu Temple situated in the village called Maluru(ಮಳೂರು), near Channapattana, Bengaluru District. Observing the Aprameya Swami figurine at Maluru temple is less than an year old chubby cheeked baby, revered scholar Prof S. K. Ramachandra Rao in his editorial work of Saint Purandaradasa’s Compendium hypothesised that Saint Purandaradasa might have vividly imagined the picture of mother Yashoda playing with a tiny toddler Krishna and connected it with the Devine attributes of Lord Vishnu such as Omnipotent, Omnipresent and Omniscient. In this music video of Smt Basty Kavitha Shenoy, we pictured various types of toddler plays played by every mother in raising her child and visually connect it with poet’s imagination, thus conveying the message with propreity.
