We set off in the rain for Cape Sata — the southernmost tip of mainland Japan, and the last piece after the north, east, and west capes. But instead of an open coast, we found a forest-choked lane, an impossibly narrow single-lane tunnel, and wind strong enough to knock you over — all in our 6.6m motorhome, with the family and our dog Anzu.
