Check out my Grenoble Walking Tour from the summer of 2022 at    • Grenoble, France, Walking Tour 🇫🇷 HD, Stre...   This walking tour video starts in the center of the Villard-de-Lans, located in the Vercors mountain range of the French Alps. During the 1968 Winter Olympics held in neighbouring Grenoble, Villard-de-Lans played host to the luge events. The Olympic luge track is not in used for luge competitions anymore, but parts of it are still used as mountain bike track and can be visited in an outdoor leisure centre. Today, Villard-de-Lans is a small, typical ski resort in the French Alps, located in the Vercors massif at an altitude of 1,500 m , where you can ski, cross-country ski, snowboard or toboggan in the winter and mountain bike and hike in the summer. With global warming, it is hardly surprising that there is not much snow in the centre of the village when this video was taken in mid-december of 2022. Villard-de-Lans is located in the south-east of France, in the department of Isère, 1 hour's drive from Lyon and about 2 hours from Geneva, Switzerland.
