On January 13, 2024, the Snowboard Champions Cup in parallel slalom will be held at the Vorobyovy Gory Sports Complex. The competition will bring together the strongest Russian snowboarders, as well as the best athletes from Iran, Kazakhstan, and Japan. Over 70 top athletes will open the year at Vorobyovy Gory. Our country will be represented by athletes from the main national team, including two-time world champion and Olympic participant Dmitry Loginov; two-time world champion, Olympic participant, and holder of the Russian record for the youngest world champion, Sofia Nadyrshina; and World Championship medalists Natalia and Andrey Sobolev. The competition will also bring together athletes representing the Krasnoyarsk Territory, Kemerovo Region, Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug, Chelyabinsk Region, the Republic of Tatarstan, Altai Krai, the Republic of Bashkortostan, and many other countries who qualified for All-Russian competitions. Throughout the evening, spectators and guests will enjoy an entertainment program, including a show program, DJ sets, and prize drawings from competition partners. The event will take place at the Vorobyovy Gory Sports and Entertainment Complex. The slope will be extended specifically for the competition by constructing a starting ramp. Parallel Slalom involves athletes racing down parallel runs. The winner is the athlete who completes the distance the fastest. Parallel Slalom snowboarding competitions are held simultaneously on two adjacent runs marked with red and blue flags. Both athletes start simultaneously. After the first run, the athletes switch runs. The winner is determined by the minimum time spent completing both courses. The time to complete the parallel slalom snowboard course must not exceed 30 seconds. For over 10 years, the Russian capital has hosted major, prestigious competitions, including the FIS Snowboard Parallel Slalom World Cup. Moscow is a pioneer in hosting major snowboarding competitions on artificial structures in large cities.
