Hajji Bakaluba Exposes Land Scam
Hajji Yasin Bakaluba Ssekimwanyi is a remarkable Ugandan entrepreneur whose journey from modest beginnings to real estate success has inspired thousands both at home and abroad. Born on August 12, 1982, in Wakiso District, Uganda, Bakaluba’s story is one of perseverance, vision, and a relentless drive to build a better life—not only for himself, but for his community. Early Life and Education Growing up in the Baganda tribe, Bakaluba was raised with traditional values of discipline and hard work. He attended Bukoto Muslim Primary School and later Bugembe Islamic Institute, laying the foundation for a life guided by faith and purpose. His early years were marked by financial challenges, but even then, he dreamed big—often inspired by his father, who was a small-scale landlord. The Move to the UK At the age of 19, Bakaluba made a bold decision to move to the United Kingdom in search of opportunities. He began working as a parking attendant and later as a security guard—a job he would hold for nearly two decades. During this time, he lived extremely frugally, saving almost every penny he earned. His ability to delay gratification and focus on long-term goals would later become a key factor in his success. Entering Real Estate While still working in the UK, Bakaluba took his first step into real estate by purchasing a plot of land in Kulambiro, a suburb of Kampala. Within 18 months, he had constructed his first set of rental units, which quickly began generating income. Encouraged by this success, he reinvested his earnings into additional projects in areas such as Kisaasi, Ntinda, and Najjera. By 2010, his real estate ventures had grown significantly, and he officially founded Bakulaba Property Services—a company now synonymous with affordable and high-quality residential and commercial developments in Uganda. His portfolio expanded rapidly, with over 200 multi-million shilling homes and commercial buildings now under his ownership across the Greater Kampala Metropolitan Area. Business Philosophy and Impact Bakaluba’s success has not gone unnoticed. His approach is grounded in financial discipline, strategic reinvestment, and a deep understanding of the Ugandan real estate market. He focuses on providing quality housing solutions for middle-income earners, including Ugandans in the diaspora who trust his company to manage property investments back home. His properties—ranging from apartment complexes to shopping malls—have contributed to urban development in areas like Namugongo, Kira, Mukono, and Mbalwa. One of his flagship projects, Bakaluba Mall, is a testament to how far he has come from his humble beginnings. Motivational Speaker and Role Model Beyond his business ventures, Hajji Yasin Bakaluba has become a respected motivational speaker. Drawing on his own experiences, he speaks about financial literacy, personal growth, and the value of persistence. He has shared his story at events in the United States, Canada, the Netherlands, South Africa, and across East Africa. On social media, particularly TikTok, Bakaluba reaches a younger audience with practical advice on saving, investment, and entrepreneurship. His authenticity and relatability have made him a beloved figure among aspiring businesspeople. Personal Values and Advice As a devout Muslim, Bakaluba’s values are central to his work. He frequently speaks about integrity, humility, and the importance of helping others. He encourages landlords to manage properties with fairness and advises tenants to understand their rights and obligations. Some of his key messages include: Start small, but think big. Live below your means and save consistently. Invest in assets that generate income. Be patient and persistent—success takes time. Stay grounded in your faith and values.
