I FINALLY played Axiom Verge and... Metroidvanias have another classic, with Axiom Verge right there in the mix with the very best. Axiom Verge doesn't nail every aspect of the sub-genre to be the perfect rendition, but it has so much heart, style, and personality that it's hard to not love. And Tom Happ is an absolute mad lad for even attempting all of this- let alone have it turn out this well.
