Q onda todos~ This is a remake of a piece I wrote a long time ago when I was still new to composing and music and piano and stuff. I remember I had a lot of trouble writing something that sounded "pretty." Like, I don't mean that as a synonym for something that sounds good; I'm not sure how to explain it, but "pretty" is a certain vibe. Most of what I had written was just happy or sad music that either sounded good or bad but was never specifically PRETTY. Then I learned about i - bIV - bIII - bIIV and proceeded to immediately overuse that chord progression way too much because it sounded pretty. This was a detriment to my music in the beginning because way too much stuff was written with the same chords. The original version of this song was the first thing I wrote when I learned the chord progression, and I remember being like OMG I finally wrote something that sounds pretty. I wouldn't call anything in there trite because the chord progression was novel to me, and I had never used it before. Also, one of the first recitals I've ever played was of the original song. I've always really liked this song and it's always been special to me. Also, the main melody is one of the best melodies I've written I think. So, I've decided to remake it now, with a VIP version. I'm aware that VIP edits are really only a thing in EDM. I also don't care and I wanna label my classical piano pieces as VIP edits and noone can stop me so I'm doing it anyways. The first half is the original version, except for the parts that aren't the original version; the second half is entirely new material, except for the parts that aren't entirely new material. Hope that clears things up. Here is an analysis of the thing: 0:06 the main melody is used to start everything 0:26 first half of the A section starts; melodic fragments of the main melody 0:54 contrasting foil melody; in swing for some reason 1:20 first climax. New syncopated theme C 1:37 second half of the A section starts. main melody 1:51 transition 2:08 main melody is played 4 times gradually getting more and more intense and complicated 2:45 second climax 3:02 key change to G minor; B section starts 3:24 same melody up an octave 3:40 B section's foil melody 4:01 A section is back, in F# minor 4:20 back home in C# minor.
