DIY Double Gate at Dad's Woodyard Part 1 / The Carpenter's Daughter

Hi all, This week was a huge step for me, as my Dad agreed to help show me how to make a gate properly down his woodyard. I made a Z-frame pair of gates for my driveway that will soon be fixed between my fence’s concrete post and the house. *Note, it will also have a supporting spar on top, but will show you that next week! Although I thought this would be fairly easy, what I did learn were some quick method tricks for accuracy and how braces work and which way they should always go. Please note this is still a working woodyard, so I guidance back and forth (poor Dad was juggling with other jobs), but I am very grateful for the time him and his lads were able spare to teach me while I was there. And it was a very cool day as the business has been in the family for two generations and I’m now the 3rd generation that has officially made something down the yard.
