Roddie Cleere chats to Philip Lynott of Thin Lizzy 28th December 1982

I recorded this conversation with Philip Lynott on Tuesday 28th December 1982 in the Savoy Entertainment Centre, Waterford Ireland (now a book shop). I was 24. This was to be my first major star interview for (pirate) radio and as a major fan and supporter of Thin Lizzy, a daunting one. There are a couple of cringe inducing questions but over all I feel it was a fairly competent interview. It should be kept in mind that I was only on radio three years and not an experienced interviewer. One the day, Philip was very polite and in great mood. He offered tickets and t-shirts and an invitation to the after party which I didn’t attend, something that I regret to this day. :) The interview was originally recorded to cassette tape and in the fullness of time, transferred to digital. As a result the tape tightened and caused the voices to sound a little higher although in Philip’s case it’s not really noticeable. ...............Roddie Cleere January 2016 http://vibeforphilo.com http://roddiecleere.com http://thinlizzyguide.com http://thinlizzy.org http://thinlizzyband.com
