【自然環境保全】ローリスク住民参加型村落開発の事例

Low-risk community-based rural development model PRODEFIとはセネガル総合村落林業開発計画の略称で、セネガルの環境自然保護省森林局と日本の国際協力機構(JICA)とが協力して、2000年1月から2005年1月までの5カ年計画で実施しているプロジェクトです。このプロジェクトでは、住民を自発的な行動へと導くことによって、彼らが自分たちで村の活性化を進めていけるような援助活動を目指しています。この「PRODEFIモデル」は研修という形で地域にインプットし、地域のニーズに応えた研修を、地域の資源を活用して、参加者を選別せずに多数の対象者として村単位で実施してきた、地域住民参加型研修モデルを確立し、実績を上げてきた事例です PRODEFI is a 5-year project that the Department of Water and Forests in Senegal, and the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) have cooperated on since January 2001. This project aims at leading and supporting villagers to take spontaneous actions, so they can revitalize their village by themselves. It is an example of the participatory development approach.
