Trams at the new Nicholson Street Tram Stops (Route 96) #1 - Melbourne Trams

Melbourne's busiest tram route; the 96 is being upgraded to make the route more accessible and more reliable for commuters. Under the Route 96 project, new accessible tram stops have been built along the route in a bid to turn the route into more of a 'light rail' service; a model of how Melbourne's tram network should be upgraded into the future. Between 2015 and 2020, stops on the north side of the route on Nicholson Street were rebuilt into platforms, essentially turning route 96 into Melbourne's first fully accessible tram route. On a nice drizzly Saturday we visit the six most recent tram stops that were rebuilt in January 2020; Brunswick Road to Rose Street. Here we see various E Class trams (Bombardier Flexity Swift's), including E1's & E2's, and surprisingly we also see C2.5113 (Alstom Citadis 302) out and about. Surprising for me at least because I didn't think the C2's ran on weekends, but apparently they do if needed. This is part 1 of the video. Part 2 will see the seven remaining rebuilt tram stops on Nicholson Street Date: February 2020. Subscribe to ThebusofdoomFSX: https://www.youtube.com/user/Thebusof...
